A Notary is an Attorney that has the additional authority to draft and execute certain legal documents being the following:

  • Antenuptial Agreements
  • Attestation of a person’s signature,
  • Authentication of a document as a true copy of the original,
  • Long Term lease agreements,
  • Notarial Bonds,
  • Notarial Deed of Servitudes, i.e Right of Way,
  • Cession of rights,
  • Exclusive Use Areas I Sectional Title Developments,
  • Other Notarial services i.e Usufructs.

Notaries can authenticate certain documents issued in South Africa for use abroad, excluding certain documents that can only be authenticated by the Department Of International Relations and Cooperation, referred to in short as DIRCO.

We can assist with the Authentication and with a required Apostille at DIRCO relating to:

  • Certificates issued by the Department Of Basic Education ( (Umalusi) and Degrees issued by The Department of Higher Education and Training,
  • Health Professions Council of South Africa,
  • Police Clearance Certificates,
  • Documents issued by the Department Of Home Affairs. such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates; letters of no impediment relating to marital status), proof of citizenship; travel documents (and passports or identity documents, driving licence.
  • Other documents issued by various Government departments.
